Thank you for joining us as we explore what’s ahead for product managers in 2025. We’ll talk about everything from AI and innovation to leadership, career growth, and doing more with less.

Let’s meet our panelists! We have Joe Ghali, Director of Product Delivery Excellence at Baxter; Amira Youssef, VP of AI Product Management and Engineering at SocialPost.ai; and Roger Snyder, Principal Consultant and Trainer at Productside. Thank you all for being here.

Opening Thoughts: The State of Product Management in 2024

Rina Alexin | 04:01–06:00
Before we dive into the future, let’s reflect on 2024. It was a whirlwind — economic uncertainty, AI advancements, and organizational shifts all reshaped how we work. So today’s discussion is about what’s next and how PMs can thrive in the year ahead.

Joe Ghali | 06:01–08:00
Thanks, Rina. What we’ve seen in 2024 is that many teams have had to do more with less. Companies expect faster outcomes and smaller teams. The good news is, it’s pushing product managers to be more strategic — more focused on impact than activity.

Amira Youssef | 08:01–09:30
Completely agree, Joe. 2024 also normalized AI in product management. It’s not just a buzzword anymore — it’s embedded into how we work, from discovery to experimentation. But it also created new challenges around ethics and data literacy.

Roger Snyder | 09:31–10:30
And the shift to AI-assisted work has really emphasized the importance of fundamentals. PMs who understand customer outcomes, not just outputs, are the ones leading the charge.

AI Trends in Product Management

Amira Youssef | 10:31–15:00
AI is transforming every step of the product lifecycle. From automating user research to predicting market shifts, we’re seeing AI become an assistant for product teams. The best PMs are not replacing themselves — they’re using AI to augment their decision-making and free up time for strategy.

Joe Ghali | 15:01–16:30
Exactly. I’m seeing organizations use AI to streamline backlog prioritization and performance analytics. But successful adoption depends on context — you have to understand where AI adds value and where human judgment still matters most.

Roger Snyder | 16:31–18:00
That’s right. And AI can amplify bad habits if used carelessly. Garbage in, garbage out still applies — prompts, data quality, and ethical oversight are critical.

Leading Through Uncertainty

Joe Ghali | 18:01–22:00
We’re entering 2025 with the same challenges — budget constraints, shifting priorities, and increased expectations. To lead through uncertainty, PMs must embrace adaptability. Focus on outcomes, build alignment, and communicate clearly across teams. Leadership in 2025 is about clarity, not control.

Roger Snyder | 22:01–24:00
That’s why soft skills are going to matter more than ever. Empathy, influence, and negotiation are now as valuable as technical expertise. Great PMs balance confidence with humility — they know when to lead and when to listen.

Amira Youssef | 24:01–26:00
And that extends to managing remote and hybrid teams. It’s about intentional communication and creating psychological safety. Trust fuels productivity, especially in uncertain environments.

Doing More with Less: Efficiency and Focus

Roger Snyder | 26:01–29:30
“Doing more with less” doesn’t mean overworking. It means prioritizing the right problems. Product teams need to eliminate noise — fewer meetings, fewer features, more focus on measurable outcomes. The most effective teams I’ve worked with review what *not* to do just as often as what to do.

Joe Ghali | 29:31–31:00
Yes, it’s about simplifying. I’ve seen teams use weekly “stop doing” reviews to keep themselves honest. It’s amazing how much capacity that frees up.

Discovery and Innovation in 2025

Amira Youssef | 31:01–35:00
Discovery isn’t dead — it’s evolving. In 2025, discovery work will blend AI insights with human intuition. We’ll see more “micro-discoveries” — smaller, faster experiments that validate ideas before major investments.

Roger Snyder | 35:01–37:00
That aligns with the continuous discovery mindset. Instead of treating discovery as a phase, think of it as a permanent muscle. Teams that stay close to their customers — through feedback loops and data — are the ones innovating most effectively.

Career Growth and Hiring Trends

Rina Alexin | 37:01–38:00
Let’s shift gears and talk about careers. What trends are we seeing in PM hiring and growth?

Joe Ghali | 38:01–40:30
We’re seeing more hybrid roles — PMs who can speak both technical and business languages. Data literacy is a must. And hiring managers are prioritizing adaptability and collaboration skills over rigid domain experience.

Amira Youssef | 40:31–42:00
For PMs aspiring to leadership roles, the biggest differentiator is communication. How well can you tell the story of your product and influence across functions? Storytelling is strategy in 2025.

Roger Snyder | 42:01–44:00
And let’s not forget AI literacy. In interviews, I’m now hearing questions like, “How do you use AI to improve your decision-making?” That’s becoming a core skill, not a nice-to-have.

Audience Q&A

Rina Alexin | 44:01–46:00
Let’s take some audience questions. One attendee asks: “How do you maintain innovation when budgets are tight?”

Joe Ghali | 46:01–47:30
Focus innovation where it matters most — on customer outcomes. You don’t need a big budget to innovate; you need a clear hypothesis and a small, fast feedback loop.

Amira Youssef | 47:31–49:00
And don’t underestimate creativity born from constraints. Some of the best innovations I’ve seen came from teams who had to think differently because resources were limited.

Poll #1 – What Trend Are You Most Excited About?

Rina Alexin | 49:01–50:30
We asked the audience what trend excites them most for 2025. The top responses: AI-powered workflows, PM career growth, and better stakeholder collaboration. Clearly, PMs are ready to embrace transformation.
