Product Management Comparison

We train product judgment. Then we measure its effect.

Your PMs can learn the AI tools anywhere. Knowing what to point them at is the hard part.

Product School teaches your PMs to build with AI. We measure how your team makes decisions across 14 skill dimensions, train the whole team on one customizable 24-hour arc built on your roadmap, then re-run the same assessment at 3, 6 and 12 months.

DELIVERY MODEL

Your PMs spend half the training on your own product decisions.

Product School can teach your team a tool. So can we. That was never the hard part.

The hard part is what the tool gets pointed at. A PM who can ship a prototype before lunch still needs to know which problem was worth the morning. Across the industry, 60% of teams say leadership escalations are the top reason their priorities change. Tool fluency doesn’t touch that.

So we measure the system first.

Assess

Diagnose before you teach

Individual Skills Assessment across 14 dimensions, plus a Team Assessment. Then a 150-criteria diagnostic against the Productside Blueprint where it’s warranted. The results decide the curriculum, not the other way around.

Train

50% hands-on, on your roadmap

One customizable 24-hour arc, the whole team together, built around a scenario they construct themselves. AI is embedded across 10 in-class exercises rather than sold as tracks on top.

Implement

The same expert, ninety days on

A 12-week Team Implementation Plan and 23 templates, run by the person who assessed you. Behavior change happens in your 1:1s, so your leaders get a six-week plan for running it. Then the same assessment at 3, 6 and 12 months, including where it didn’t move.

Two real offers. They answer different problems.

Product School’s curriculum is more technical than ours, and openly so. Worth knowing which constraint you’re actually buying against before you pick.

How Productside compares to Product School
For an Enterprise Buyer The Productside Edge Productside Product School
What you're buying, and in what unit One program, scoped to your team. Quoted once for the whole engagement, after the assessment says what it needs to cover. Bought per seat, as single certifications or annual memberships. Seat prices are published. Enterprise is quote-gated.
Who the program is built for Your product team, together, on one arc. Same vocabulary out the other side. The individual learner, seat by seat, choosing from named tracks.
What gets measured Each PM against 14 skill dimensions (incl. AI fluency), benchmarked, re-run over time. Team skill gaps, plus a five-stage AI maturity index. Measured to scope the program.
Time in exercises 50% hands-on, built on your product journey and your live decisions. Live small-cohort certifications across named tracks.
How AI shows up Embedded across 10 in-class exercises. 12 of our 16 exercises are built on established PM canon, so nothing expires when this year's tool gets replaced. Tailored to your tool stack. The whole identity. "The Global Leader in AI Training for Product Teams." Tracks include Vibe Coding, Claude Code for PMs, AI Evals and agentic workflows.
Certification AIPMM Certified Product Manager. An independent third-party credential. Self-issued Product School certification.
How you buy Consultative, scoped against the diagnostic. Priced to the outcome, not to a seat Public membership tiers; easy to compare and self-serve
Proof of impact Proof of impact Pre and post skills assessment delta, reported per skill dimension, tracked at 3, 6 and 12 months. 58% of grads report improved strategic capability, 42% reported more trust from their manager. Salary increase and business outcome claims.

Comparison based on publicly available course information, last reviewed August 2026. One more thing to know: In May 2026 the same CEO launched Product Partners, an AI consulting firm promising "5X faster development cycles" and "50% lower cost" through "a leaner, higher-impact team." Read that last part again. It's a legitimate offer, and it's a different purchase from the one you're evaluating. We make your product team better. That one makes it smaller.

What you'll hear in the evaluation

“We’re going with Product School. Our team needs AI skills.”

Then they may well be the right call, and we’ll say so. If the constraint is that nobody on your team can prototype or evaluate a model, their curriculum goes deeper than ours on exactly that.

Worth checking first, though. Look at last quarter and ask what actually went wrong. Was it that nobody could build fast enough, or that the roadmap was set by whoever escalated hardest? Those need different purchases. Our assessment answers that question in about 30 minutes per PM, and you keep the report either way.

“You’re more expensive.”

Compare the unit, not the number. Theirs is a seat, and it scales with every person and every track they pick. Ours is one engagement, quoted once after the assessment says what it needs to cover.

Then ask what a skills baseline, an implementation plan and a re-assessment cost separately elsewhere. Mostly they aren’t sold separately, which is why a seat price and a program price aren’t the same comparison.

“We tried training before and it didn’t stick.”

It usually doesn’t, when training is the whole plan. In our own sample diagnostic, one of seven prioritized recommendations was training. The other six were organizational. Nobody fixes those in a classroom.

So we hand your leaders the Monday. Every engagement includes a six-week reinforcement plan: pick the behaviors you want changed, reinforce them in the 1:1s and team meetings you already run, then repeat the cycle. If you buy the Team Implementation Plan, we run it with you. If you don’t, you still leave with the plan.

“Their enterprise program opens with an assessment too.”

We agree, but compare what it feeds. Ours benchmarks 14 dimensions (including AI fluency) against 6,000+ PMs and drives a named implementation plan with accountability checkpoints, not just curriculum customization.
